SPRINGFIELD, Va. – U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia recognized Interactive Government Holdings with the 2020 Platinum Level HIRE Vets Medallion Award for its commitment to employing U.S. military veterans. The Award was conferred to IGH during a virtual award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor on Nov. 10.

Interactive Government Holdings qualified for the Platinum Level HIRE Vets Medallion Award with its 35 percent veteran hiring rate in 2019. In its application it noted a commitment to improving the lives of its veteran employees with a Veterans’ Advocacy Group, special recognitions for veterans, and overall veteran promotion and retention rate.

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program, signed into law in 2017, is the only federal award program to credit businesses for creating job opportunities for veterans. IGH is one of 675 total recipients to receive gold and platinum level awards, representing various business sizes in 49 states and the District of Columbia.

“Our veteran employees add incredible value to our workplace,” said Michael Sanders, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and CEO of IGH. “Less than 10 percent of Americans ever served in the military, but over a third of our hires last year were veterans. These men and women exhibit dedication, teamwork and problem-solving skills and a commitment to serving a greater good. It’s rewarding when we see veterans find success in their positions and earn a reputation based on trust and leadership. We appreciate the U.S. Department of Labor recognizing IGH with the Platinum Level HIRE Vets Medallion Award.”

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is earned by leading businesses that demonstrate unparalleled commitment to attracting and retaining veterans. The 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Program will open to employers on Jan. 31, 2021. For more information about the program and the application process, visit www.HIREVets.gov.

Established in 2006, Interactive Government Holdings (IGH) is a Verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). IGH is a prime contractor specializing in providing full-service professional solutions to federal agencies.
