IGH Salutes Michael R. Montgomery
November was national Hire-A-Veteran Month and we took the opportunity to feature IGH veteran employees in our “IGH Salutes” series and celebrate our HIRE Vets Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor. But our deep admiration and respect for our veteran employees continues year-round.

In this “IGH Salutes” post, we recognize the military service of Michael R. Montgomery. Michael is new to the IGH team, joining us this fall as our Veterans Outreach Specialist with the Vermont Veterans Outreach Program.

Michael applies his previous experience doing veterans outreach to his current job at IGH. He recognizes that veterans need peer support from other veterans to whom they can relate.

Michael grew up in Bennington, Vermont and joined the U.S. Army over 21 years ago. He is a 19D Cavalry Reconnaissance Scout and plans to retire in 2021. He currently makes his home in Cambridge, New York. He has a daughter in college working towards an Animal Science degree and says he has the best blended family a guy could ask for.

Outside of his work at IGH and military requirements, he spends time on home improvement projects, hunting and volunteering with the VFW and American Legion. He also is a board member of the NY Area Quality Deer Management Program Branch.

We appreciate your service, Michael, in the U.S. Army and as Veteran Outreach Specialist.
